Excellent Resources for Auxiliary Graphics
Two key components of good military design are standardization of colors and design elements. The below resources will help you, as a designer, to ensure that your artwork matches the 'look' of existing designs.
Are you good enough for the Graphics Corps?
The Coast Guard Auxiliary Graphics Corps is the Auxiliary's cadre of artists and designers, who provide graphics to the Auxiliary nationwide. We're always looking for reliable, talented and enthusiastic artists for the Corps; the standards for admission are high, but membership is a honor and can also be a boost to your professional resume and art portfolio.
Corps members should be prepared to commit five hours per month to Auxiliary graphics projects, and must be able to submit work within required deadlines. While specialties such as cartooning, fine art, and technical illustration are a plus, the core competencies required for membership are:
- Proficiency with Photoshop, Illustrator, and/or CorelDraw.
- Past professional experience as a graphic artist.
- Year-round availability, unless otherwise agreed upon.
- A two-year commitment to the program.
If you're interested in being part of our nationally recognized design program, send your resume to rob.green@cgauxgraphics.org.
